UNHCR Innovation: Problem-solving with refugees

UNHCR Innovation drives out-of-the-box thinking inside the United Nations refugee agency. Working collaboratively with refugees, academia, and the private sector, the team constantly seeks creative solutions to the challenges faced by uprooted or stateless people worldwide.

UNHCR Innovation had no consistent positioning, messaging, or visual identity or digital presence beyond a simple Facebook page. When Hyperakt was engaged to approach this challenge, I oversaw a team of 6 designers, creative directors, and copywriters between Brooklyn and UNHCR. Working hand and hand with the client, I led the development of a content strategy, managing interviews with stakeholders across the world, internal brainstorm sessions, and presentations with high-level members of the client team.

The resulting brand identity and website have helped put UNHCR Innovation on the map by highlighting their unique processes and impact.
